Arlo has started rolling out Apple Home integration for its Essential Second-Generation lineup; a long-awaited update for iOS users who’ve been staring at their Home apps wondering when, or if, their Arlo gear would ever show up.
The new compatibility means that the likes of the Arlo Essential 2K Video Doorbell, 2K Indoor Camera, and 2K Outdoor XL Camera (all second-gen models) can now be added to the Apple Home app, provided they’re connected to a compatible Arlo Base Station or SmartHub.
When connected properly, users will be able to view live feeds and screenshots, get motion and audio notifications, and even access two-way audio directly in the Apple Home app.

Siri voice control is also supported, as is the ability to view camera feeds on Apple TV, which is handy for quickly checking who’s at the door without reaching for your phone.
This is a big deal for Apple Home households, where support for third-party cameras has historically been hit-or-miss.
While Arlo still isn’t offering HomeKit Secure Video, this is still a solid step forward for users wanting a more unified smart home experience, especially those already invested in the Apple ecosystem.
