Smart security specialist Arlo has announced new partnerships with Samsung SmartThings, beefing up the security offerings for users of both platforms.
Arlo’s integration with Samsung SmartThings will allow users to access parts of Arlo Secure 5; Arlo’s new suite of AI-enabled security features, directly within the SmartThings app.
This integration includes two-way audio and event snapshots, providing users with additional visibility into security events.
SmartThings users will also be able to make use of Arlo’s AI-powered object detection, which can identify people, vehicles, and packages. Users can customize notifications and automations based on this information, allowing for a more personalized security experience.
Arlo has also announced a partnership with RapidSOS.
RapidSOS Safety Agents receive critical details from Arlo users and enables real-time visual confirmation of incidents through video verification, reducing false alarms and accelerating emergency response when every second matters.
This integration will allow RapidSOS Safety Agents to access live video feeds and recorded clips from Arlo cameras, enabling real-time video verification of security threats before dispatching assistance.
Arlo users will be able to alert RapidSOS agents with a single action, and pre-filled location profiles and gate codes will be transmitted to first responders.
The enhanced integration with SmartThings is set to roll out this spring, RapidOS is available now.
However, this being Arlo, you are going to have to cough up for the new features – which is hardly surprising given even basic detection needs an Arlo Secure Subscription.
Secure 5 features will need users to be on at least an Arlo Secure Plus plan, which is $17.99 a month.
