Brand's first 4G security camera also unveiled in Berlin
Chinese smart security specialist Ezviz took the covers off of a raft of new devices over in Berlin at IFA 2023; the most notable of which was the new Ezviz E6 smart security camera.
The company’s first Apple HomeKit Secure Video security camera, the Ezviz E6 boasts a 3K resolution and, like the Ezviz C6 2K+, offers 360-degree panning from the Ezviz app, so you’ll be able to keep a good eye on everything that’s going on in your home.
HomeKit Secure Video allows the storage of footage on Apple’s servers, without the worry that it could be seen by spying eyes – not even Apple’s.
When video footage is captured from the E6, it gets encrypted end-to-end and is then saved into iCloud, where it will stay – securely. Only you (and anyone you invite to view) will be able to see it.

The encryption happens locally, before being sent to the cloud. HomeKit Secure Video also determines the difference between people, pets, or cars before encrypting and storing it.
To get involved, you’ll need a HomePod or a HomePod Mini, or an Apple TV for the full suite of features as those devices all act as dedicated Apple Home Hubs.
Back to the Ezviz E6 and it also boasts a number of nifty features, including smartphone alerts you if the noise level suddenly changes; handy if a baby cries in the night or a smoke alarm starts beeping, for example.

Another neat feature is that, if someone waves at the camera, they initiate a video call to your phone.
Not only is the Ezviz C6 HomeKit Secure Video-compliant, it is also compatible with both Google Home and Amazon Alexa, and boasts AI-powered human and pet detection, auto-zoom tracking, a privacy shutter, IR night vision, and bark and meow detection too.
It connects via Wi-Fi – both 2.4GHz and 5GHz – and there’s an option for MicroSD storage if you don’t want to use Ezviz’s cloud storage.
Aside from the E6, Ezviz also used IFA 2023 to launch the EB8 4G Pan & Tilt Outdoor Battery Camera, the brand’s first cellular security camera.
It’s battery powered and can be kept charged using Ezviz’s solar panel accessory, as pictured below:
Also on show in Berlin was the new CB5, a battery camera with built-in solar panel, the EP3x Dual-Lens Battery Video Doorbell and the HP7 Video Doorphone; an intercom system which comes with an indoor display that can also be used as a control panel for all your Ezviz kit.
Finally, Ezviz also announced its plan to add Matter to the mix, with the new A3 Gateway.
