Google has added a further incentive for Nest users to get onboard with the new Nest Aware plans - it is gifting subscribers a free Google Nest Hub; a device that usually costs $89.99.
The offer, which comes over email and is redeemed with a few clicks using the Google Store, even applies to new subscribers to Nest Aware. So, if you were in two minds about taking out a plan, or you had your eye on a Nest Hub, then it's almost a no-brainer.
The deal is just for people on the new plans; people on the old Aware plans won't get the email.
Nest Aware recently changed to a two-tier model: the basic Nest Aware, which offers 30 days of event video history and covers all of your Nest home security cameras for $6 per month; and Nest Aware Plus, which gets you up to 60 days of event video history and 10 days of 24/7 video history, at $12 per month.

Compare that to what went before where, on a device-by-device basis you'd be paying $5 a month for five days of video history or $10 for 10 days. In a home with just two cameras, the savings and benefits are already obvious; in houses with multiple Nest devices the savings become substantial.
If you've got an existing Nest Aware subscription, you can upgrade to a new plan through the Google Store. One thing to be aware of though - the new Nest Aware requires that you migrate from a Nest to a Google account, if you haven’t already done so. You can, if you wish, keep your current subscription as well.
The offer appears to be available in both the UK and the US.
