CES 2025: Trio of slick looking smart lights - and a JBL speaker - on show in Vegas
Over in Las Vegas, at CES 2025, Govee has taken the covers off of a trio of cutting-edge smart lighting products, aimed at pimping up your entertainment and gaming spaces (does anyone say ‘pimping up’ anymore? If they don’t, I’m bringing it back.)
The new Gaming Pixel Light, Mini Panel Lights, and Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL are all part of the Chinese smart lighting specialist’s mission to “Bring Color to Daily Life.”
Starting with the Govee Gaming Pixel Light, and it’s a pretty slick looking device that we haven’t really seen the likes of before. In fact, Govee tells us that it’s the industry’s first AI-powered pixel light.
Not only will it allow you to create pixel art with enhanced AI lighting technology, but it also offers features like real-time weather updates, NBA schedules, and even Bitcoin tracking; there are 150 lighting effects available in the Govee app.
Merging a retro aesthetic with practical functionality, the Gaming Pixel Light is designed for both tabletop and wall mounting.
Its immersive 8-bit AIGC visuals can also be paired with music will offer a fun, dynamic addition to gaming setups. There’s also a speaker on board that can play retro electronic tunes.
Users will be able to create bespoke designs using the AI Bot in Govee’s app, or upload GIFs or images to turn into pixel-art.
The Govee Gaming Pixel light will arrive in two sizes – one more square, one more rectangle – and will go on sale in the 2nd quarter of this year. The price is still TBC.
Next up on the CES launch list is the Govee Mini Panel Lights.
Featuring Govee’s RGBIC technology, these compact panels boast a curved transparent lampshade and 15 lamp beads to create stunning three-dimensional lighting effects.
A built-in MCU chip automatically recognizes panel layouts during assembly – just as with the excellent Govee Glide Hexagon Light Panels Ultra – which massively simplifies the setup.
With push-type connectors supporting up to 120 panels, users will be able to build personalized designs with over 50 lighting effects already in the app available, as well as the usual array of Govee cutomization tools on hand.
The Govee Mini Panel Lights are Matter compatible, and are available now, priced at $99.99 for a 10-pack or $149.99 for a 20-pack, which both include the adapter / controller.
You can buy 10-pack extensions for an extra $59.99. You’ll need more than one adapter in the mix if you go above 70 panels.
Last but not least, the Govee Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL hopes to take ambiance to a new level, combining Govee’s vibrant RGBICWW lighting with JBL’s sound quality.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Govee slap a speaker in a lamp – that honor belongs to the Lamp Pro – but the JBL audio is a beefy upgrade, with a 10W full-range 2.5-inch speaker, plus 2 large passive radiators on board.
Also boasting Matter compatibility, the Table Lamp 2 Pro synchronizes light and music in real-time, to deliver an immersive audio-visual experience.
With its curved lighting surface housing 210 independently controlled LEDs, it offers a humongous spectrum of colors and a wide range of warm-to-cool whites.
It’s both portable and rechargeable, with a 5,200mAh battery built-in.
There’s no word on a price just yet, but we know it’s set to land at the beginning of the summer.
