Indoor LED Lightstrip and Outdoor String Light ship this month
Nanoleaf’s latest Matter compatible smart lights, the Multicolor Outdoor String Lights and the Multicolor Indoor LED Lightstrip, are now available to pre-order both sides of the pond, with shipping promised before the end of the month.
First announced over in Vegas back in January at CES, the latest Matter-enabled Essentials line-up takes Nanoleaf outside for the first time.
The Canadian smart lighting specialist first added Matter to the mix when it launched the 2nd-gen Essentials line last summer, although this new Matter duo are Matter-over-WiFi, not Matter-over-Thread.
That means you can set up the Multicolor Outdoor String Lights and the Multicolor Indoor LED Lightstrip with any Matter controller. You’ve probably already got one in your house as that functionality is built into most smart speakers and even the likes of Samsung TVs and fridges.

If you’ve not got a Matter smart home, and just want to keep things simple, then you can sync and control these lights using Bluetooth and the Nanoleaf app on your phone.
You can expect all the usual Nanoleaf bells and whistles, such as pre-set scenes, integrations with your other Nanoleaf lights, and compatibility with all of the major smart home ecosystems such as Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit.
With 16 million colors on offer, and individually addressable lights and segments, the customization options are pretty much endless.
With RGBIC on board the Lightstrip, you’re getting 60 color zones and 60 LEDs per metre.
The Outdoor String Lights boast RGBICW tech and are IP65 rated so you can leave them outside all year round.
Both the Multicolor Outdoor String Lights and the Multicolor Indoor LED Lightstrip are available to pre-order now, direct from Nanoleaf.

Nanoleaf also announced the Matter compatible Permanent Outdoor Lights at CES 2024, but we’re still awaiting official word on when these will go on sale.
