A couple of weeks ago we reported that smart light specialist Philips Hue could be about to enter the smart video doorbell market.
And now, we have further proof that backs up the rumor as the Philips Hue Secure Doorbell has been found lurking within the Hue app.
That’s right, Philips Hue has leaked its own device.
It’s the same tipster as the original story, Fabian from HueBlog.com, who noticed that version 5.38 of the Hue app introduced a new QR scanner tool to add devices to your Hue system, and within that tool the Philips Hue Secure Doorbell was not only mentioned, but also a rendered image was present too.

It looks to be a long, thin video doorbell that looks similar to the likes of the Eufy Video Doorbell E340 or the Blink Video Doorbell.
There hasn’t been an official announcement from the Signify-owned brand as of yet, but according to Fabian, who has a solid track record with Hue leaks, the Secure Doorbell could be released later this year.
It was back in August 2023, that Signify branched Hue beyond smart lighting by launching the Philips Hue Secure cameras, which formed part of a Philips Hue Secure smart security system, along with some contact sensors.
The addition of a Secure Doorbell makes sense then, as Signify continues to build out its range of smart home security products.
This Philips Hue Secure Doorbell would, we’d expect, seamlessly sync with the existing Hue ecosystem, offering features like remote control via the Philips Hue app and connection to other devices for triggered actions.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for any official announcements from Signify, and we’ll bring you the news as soon as we know it.
