£15 a month gets your Sky Atlantic, Netflix and Discovery+
Sky has introduced Sky Essential TV – a new entry-level TV pack designed for those who some premium content without a hefty price tag.
The Sky Essential TV plan is the lowest cost plan from the satellite and streaming specialst, costing just £15 a month.
That means it undercuts the Ultimate TV Pack by £7, but you do lose the likes of Sky Max, Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, Sky Showcase and Sky Witness.
However, Sky Atlantic, Netflix (with ads) and Discovery+ are all on board.
You won’t get 4K, ad skipping or any of the premium cinema or sports channels, but you can always add these at any point.
The Sky Stream puck is a pretty nifty streaming device as well, so if you already have Prime Video or Apple TV subscriptions, then it’s a no brainer as it’s all handled in the one box.
The Sky Essential TV pack includes over 100 channels, with shows like House of the Dragon and The Day of the Jackal on Sky Atlantic (and Sopranos repeats too, at breakfast time!)
It’s Netflix standard, i.e. HD not UHD, and there are adverts, but you’ll still have the full catalogue with shows and movies like Senna, One Day and Baby Reindeer all on offer.
Discovery+ isn’t just documentaries, there’s a load of movies and shows on there too, as well as live sport
Ben Case, Sky TV’s Managing Director, said the pack was created to bring Sky’s “world-class TV experience” to more people, emphasizing simplicity and value.
With this move, Sky seems to be targeting those who want premium TV at a lower price point.
At £15 a month, it’s certainly a tempting offer for TV fans who want more than just free-to-air content.
You can sign up for Essential TV now direct with Sky.
