CES 2025: Crazy cleaning jack-of-all trades headlines bumper Vegas launch event
SwitchBot (of Bot finger, tiny robot cleaner and auto curtain opening fame) wants to take multitasking to a whole new level.
The Chinese smart home specialist has used CES 2025 for the unveiling of the K20+ Pro, a household robot that juggles more tasks than you’d think possible (or even needed).
Vacuuming, air purification, home security, delivering snacks, and even DIY modding, this modular marvel wants to do it all.
At its core is SwitchBot’s FusionPlatform, a tech-packed base – complete with a mini robot vacuum cleaner, natch – that connects with various attachments to transform the K20+ Pro into whatever your household needs.
Whether it’s patrolling the house for security, carrying out air purification duties, or ferrying drinks to the couch, the K20+ Pro wants to replace an entire lineup of single-purpose devices with one shape-shifting machine.
The K20+ Pro is less a one-trick pony and more of a multitasking circus act. Among its suggested uses are,,,
- Smart delivery assistant: With the ability to carry up to 8kg, it can deliver everything from snacks to pet supplies.
- Mobile security patrol: When paired with a SwitchBot Pan/Tilt Cam, it can patrol your home, keeping an eye on pets and valuables while you’re away.
- Air purifier on wheels: The K20+ Pro Air Purifier Kit moves room-to-room to clean the air, offering mobile filtration of allergens and pollutants.
- Vacuuming versatility: Equipped with TwinFlow Suction Technology, it handles everything from deep cleaning to quick touch-ups.
SwitchBot also wants users to come up with their own ideas.
The FusionPlatform allows for easy integration of custom attachments, making it possible for smart home enthusiasts looking to push the boundaries.
The K20+ Pro integrates into the broader SwitchBot smart home ecosystem and also works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri.
The K20+ Pro will be available later this year in various kits, from the basics to the massively-over-the-top “Omni Ultimate Kit.”
Love it or laugh at it, the SwitchBot K20+ Pro will undoubtedly be one of CES 2025’s wildest announcements.
Alongside its multitasking machine, SwitchBot has also used CES 2025 to unveil a trio of exciting new products.
The SwitchBot Floor Cleaning Robot S20 Pro, will hope to build on the success of its predecessor – the S10.
With its unique dual-extension design, it should tackle even the trickiest corners and edges thanks to an extendable side brush and roller mop.
Equipped with a powerful 15,000 Pa suction and RinseSync mop self-cleaning, the S20 Pro is definitely the most powerful robo cleaner we’ve seen from the brand so far.
Like the S10, which was pretty unique when it launched a year ago, its all-in-one base station comes in two versions; one with a standard water tank and another with an auto-refill and drain system that can connect straight up to your mains water and waste pipe.
It also offers features like high-temperature mop drying and automatic cleaning solution refilling.
It’s also backward compatibility with the S10 water station (and humidifier) and is Matter compatible too.
Also on show at the expo is the SwitchBot Lock Ultra, upgrades last year’s Lock Pro with an even more renter-friendly design to retrofit onto almost any existing lock.
Boasting a FastUnlock system, users will be able to unlock using one of 16 methods, including fingerprint recognition, app control, and voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant.
It boasts a six-layer security system, including AES-128 encryption and there’s Matter compatibility if you throw a SwitchBot hub into the mix too.
Lastly, the SwitchBot Video Doorbell was also unveiled, which comes with a portable 4.3-inch display with a built-in 100dB.
The SwitchBot Video Doorbell boasts a 20-month battery life, 2K ultra-HD video, color night vision, and a 165° wide-angle view.
There’s also AI motion detection, Alexa integration, and up to 512GB of local storage; so no subscription fees.
There’s no pricing on any of this new SwitchBot gear yet, but we know they’ll all go on sale in Q2 of 2025.
