TP-Link's Kasa Cam Outdoor lands

TP-Link just announced a new addition to its smart security camera range, the Kasa Cam Outdoor. The $139 camera is available now (shipping in August) and comes with plenty of features you'd expect to see on higher-end models.

Verdict: Kasa Cam security camera review

Joining TP-Link's existing indoor Kasa Cam, the Cam Outdoor does wide-angle 1080p video streaming, two way audio, a built-in siren and alerts from the sound and motion sensors (up to 30 ft). It's weatherproof to a IP65 rating that protects it against rain and dust, and it has night vision skills and the ability to manually zoom too.

The Kasa Cam Outdoor works with both Alexa and Google Assistant and you can stream live camera feeds to both Chromecast and Fire TV devices plugged into your TV plus live and recorded to your smartphone.

Another nice touch is that you get some cloud storage for free. Specifically, you can view up to two days' worth of your Kasa Cam Outdoor feed for free - including watching it live, downloading the footage and sharing it for up to three cameras. After that, you'll need to pay for TP-Link's rolling 14 day ($40 a year) and 30 day ($70 a year) Kasa Care subscription plans.

As for set up, it comes with a magnetic camera mount and mounting wall plate so you can install and rotate it to where you need it to cover yourself.
