Velux is connecting up its roof windows, blinds and shutters with help from French smart home company Netatmo.
The Velux Active with Netatmo system, which is available now as a ‚ā¨249 starter pack, works with Velux Integra kit and it's compatible with Apple HomeKit using Siri voice controls or the Apple Home app.

Velux Active monitors humidity, temperature and CO2 inside the house via sensors and can work to automatically optimise air quality, ventilation etc without the need for you to control everything manually.
Netatmo has a ventilation algorithm and a heat protection algorithm that uses room climate sensors and online weather service info to decide whether opening the roof window will improve ventilation, sun screening and the 'indoor climate' (plus what degree and for how long to open) as well as closing shutters and blinds before a room gets too hot.
It's compatible with both Velux electrical roof windows and manual roof windows with a solar motor. The Velux Active starter pack works with iPhone and Android phones and includes an indoor climate sensor, departure switch and internet gateway.
There's also the option to add an additional ‚ā¨99 indoor climate sensor to the starter pack.
