LG has officially launched the highly anticipated Xbox app on its range of smart TVs; providing users with direct access to Xbox cloud gaming services on their TV screens, without the need for an actual console.
The rollout, in over 25 countries, will let LG smart TV owners to stream a vast library of Xbox titles, from independent releases to AAA blockbusters, directly through the Xbox app, for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
This means access to an extensive catalog of games from all the big publishers including Activision, Bethesda, Blizzard, Mojang, and Xbox Game Studios.
All you’ll need, apart from a compatible LG TV, of course, is a compatible Bluetooth controller.
The app is currently available on LG TVs and select smart monitors operating on the webOS 24 platform or later iterations, with forthcoming support for StanbyME screens as well. That basically means 2022 OLED TVs, select 2023 smart TVs and most of 2024 and 2025 mid-to-upper models.
As well as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate cloud titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Avowed, South of Midnight, users will be able to use the service to stream a curated selection of games they have already purchased, including titles like NBA 2K25 and Hogwarts Legacy, enhancing the flexibility of their gaming experience.
The collaboration with Xbox and the introduction of the Xbox app come hot on the heels of LG adding the Hue TV Sync app to the mix, so you’ll be able to game with the colors illuminated in your living room.
