CES 2025: It’s only a concept at present, but it certainly looks very cool
Xgimi has used CES 2025 to show of a cool new concept that could well be a vision of what our TV setups might look like in the near future.
Dubbed Xgimi Ascend, it’s part projector, part TV, part sound system and part virtual fireplace all thrown into one.
Essentially it’s an Xgimi Aura 2 ultra short-throw projector providing the visuals, with a motorized 100-inch Ambient Light Rejection (ALR) screen, and a couple of premium Harman Kardon soundbars thrown into the mix too.
The result is a super impressive home cinema solution that can also be used as an ambiance-enhancing display.
For that, it’s possible to just put the screen up a third, or half way and project whatever scene you want on it.
Xgimi had a fireplace on display for CES 2025, but it could also be a virtual fish tank, or a window to whatever scene you want.
As I stated though, it’s not actually a real product for now though – merely a concept – but there is hope that might change.
“Ascend is a symbol of our dedication to continuous innovation in home entertainment and a testament to our drive to provide users with powerful, elegant solutions that enhance their everyday lives,” explained Xgimi’s CEO Apollo Zhong.
“It’s the type of jaw-dropping product that belongs at CES, and we’re so excited to gather feedback from technologists at the show.”
Jaw-dropping it certainly is and I’ve got my fingers crossed that the feedback they get inspires them to create the real deal… my sources at the show indicated that we might not have to wait long.
