New flagship model features a True HEPA filter and an impressive runtime
Neato used IFA 2020 to reveal a trio of new robot vacuum cleaners: the Neato D10, D9 and D8 were all announced at the big Berlin tech expo.
Following on from the success of the ageing Neato D7 and D6 models (the Botvac Connected moniker seems to have been dropped), Neato has again returned to that trademark D-shaped design.
Neato believes this shape is better equipped to get all up in the corners of your home where circular robot vacuum cleaners might struggle.
The Neato D10 is the new flagship model from the Californian company, with an impressive 150 minute battery life, a True HEPA filter that captures up to 99.97% allergens and particles like dust (as small as 0.3 microns) and a LaserSmart LIDAR-based navigation system.
The D9 opts for a HEPA-style filter, rather than the True HEPA of the big dog, but you can still rest assured it will sort out 99.5% of all those airborne nasties. Run time on this new middle model is 120 minutes and you still get the LaserSmart tech.
Last and, well, least, the D8, has a run-time of just 90 minutes and doesn’t do any fancy filtering. It still has LaserSmart navigation though, so it’s not all doom and gloom.
The Neato app always impressed us in the past and we’re told that the setup for these three new models will be easier than ever thanks to a new 6-step process using the built in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. As with previous models, you can expect Google Assistant and Alexa compatibility.
No price or release dates have been revealed for the D10, nor its new stablemates, but we have been told they will start shipping in the fall.
