Or in front of the wheel, you can stick it wherever you like really
Along with the new 5th-gen Echo Dot smart speakers, Amazon also used its Fall hardware launchathon to unveil the 2nd-gen Echo Auto.
The new Echo Auto, as you probably guessed from the name, gets Alexa into your car and allows you hands-free, voice-enabled frolicking as you go from A to B.
The new Auto has a slicker, slimmer design from the 2018-original, and features an adhesive mount to make it easier to stick exactly where you want it on your dashboard.
There are five built-in microphones, which should help you it to hear your commands over the top of your road trip playlist.
With an Echo Auto on board your vehicle, you get the full Alexa experience (you can even control your Alexa-compatible smart home devices when you are out and about) but it’s the driving-specific features that are its real reason for being.

Think music controls, making and answering calls, navigation and even getting roadside assistance hands-free when you run into vehicle trouble (Amazon touted its own roadside assistance service at the launch event).
The 2022 Amazon Echo is powered using a car’s USB port and can be wired into your car’s stereo via a 3.5mm audio jack but it also works a standalone speaker on its own.
It costs $54.99 and you can pre-order it now.
