Weatherproof Zigbee orbs go live
Dutch smart light specialist Innr has announced its latest connected illumination offering: the Innr Smart Outdoor Globe Lights.
As you’ve probably gathered from the name, these smart lights are designed with your garden in mind.
However, rather than the usual string light or lightstrip form factor, the Globe Lights are designed to be noticed beyond the 16 million colours they are capable of.
Measuring 19cm in diameter, these Zigbee-connected smart bulbs are designed to hang from a tree or an outdoor fixture, or be inserted into your lawn or flower bed using a spike.
In the starter box you’ll get three Globe Lights, alongside the power pack controller, and the spikes are all included too.
If three isn’t quite enough for you, you can add additional Globes – up to a maximum of five.

This being Innr, there’s a multitude of ways you can get the Globe Lights connected to your smart home system.
Natively, using the Innr Bridge (recently updated), will give you the most customisation options but you can also connect directly to a SmartThings Hub.
Finally, it’s a well-known secret that Innr Zigbee smart lights also work within a Philips Hue setup.
Once you’ve got the Smart Outdoor Globe Lights connected with your smart home ecosystem of choice, you’ll also then be able to get them singing and dancing with Amazon Alexa or Google Home.
Rated IP65 for outdoor use, Innr tells us they’ll be good for up to 30,000 hours of use.
As well as the new Outdoor Globe Lights, Innr has also launched a next-gen version of its LED garden light strips, with up to 44% increased light output and 16% more LEDs per meter.
There’s no word on a US-launch yet but in the UK you can pick up an Outdoor Globe Lights Colour 3-pack directly from Innr for £169.99, additional Globes are £44.99 a pop.
The new Outdoor Flex Light is available in 2m and 4m, for £59.99 and £99.99.
