Voice is all well and good but sometimes you just want to tap to get things done. Enter supercharged, customisable smart switches like Senic's Nuimo Click, due to ship and go on sale this December.
Like the similar Philips Hue Tap and Wemo Light Switch, the Nuimo Click is designed to be wall mounted. It's also wireless and powers itself so that each time you click it, the Click generates enough energy to send the signal. Unlike other smart switches, it's not just for smart lighting controls - it's more of a smart button hybrid.
You can connect the Nuimo to Philips Hue bulbs and lighting for power/brightness/your favourite scenes but you can also program the buttons to control Sonos speakers - play/pause, skip tracks, volume up/down and accessing your favourite stations.
The Nuimo Click costs $229 for a Starter Kit which includes a Nuimo Hub that plugs into your router and two Nuimo Clicks - in white or black. Then it's $70 for each Switch after that.
Now, that's quite expensive - you could get a couple of cheaper smart light switches and smart buttons for that price. But if you own Hue and Sonos kit - both very popular - and you want one system for the whole house, this might make sense. Plus Senic does have a 20% off deal for pre-orders with shipping to the US, Canada and Europe.
Replacing the light switch with something smarter is a big concern for the smart home right now whether it's Ecobee sticking Alexa voice controls into its Switch+ or the screen based Brilliant Smart Home Controller. The Nuimo Click is a nice, simple addition to the growing list of options.
