It's easy to get your air-conditioning units singing and dancing with Tado

And the good news, if you’ve already got a Tado heating system setup, is that it lives in the same Tado app, so you’ll have a one-stop-shop for accessing your heating, hot water and air-con controls.
If you don’t have a Tado system already, that’s fine too, as the Tado Smart AC Control v3+ connects directly to your home Wi-Fi, there’s no need for a Tado bridge.
Here’s how to install a Tado Smart AC Control v3+ and add it to your Tado setup.
Phase 1 – Registering and adding to home Wi-Fi.

- Open the Tado app and go into the Settings screen.
- Tap Rooms & Devices.
- Hit the big blue Add device button down the bottom.
- Scan the QR code on your Tado Smart AC Control v3+.
- Choose register device.
- If you are using an iPhone you’ll now see the option to add it to HomeKit and sync up to Wi-Fi that way, after following all the usual HomeKit steps.

Phase 2 – Adding to Tado server and syncing your AC remote
- Once registered on your home Wi-Fi, the Smart AC Control will link to Tado’s servers.
- Once completed link your AC remote control by pointing it at the v3+ and pushing the on/off button.
- You’ll see a green AC model found pop up once it’s successful.
You now have complete control over your home air-con via the Tado app… the Tado Smart AC Control v3+ simply relays an infrared signal to your AC unit in the same way your remote control does. Therefore, it needs to be installed somewhere in a good line of sight to the unit.
What AC units does Tado work with?
Tado is manufacturer-agnostic, which means the Smart AC Control v3+ is compatible with a wide range of ACs and heat pump brands, offering control over the majority of their functions.
The only requirement is that your AC unit must be equipped with a remote control featuring a display that indicates the current settings.
