Driver available now, bringing IP doorbells directly into Control4 ecosystem
Smart video doorbell brand DoorBird has been officially certified for use within a Control4 system.
This means that, rather than using premium third-party drivers, DoorBird IP door stations can now be integrated directly into Control4 systems, using an official – and crucially, free – driver.
Ding dong: Control4 Chime review
You may still need your dealer to configure a DoorBird device into your Control4 setup but the good news is that, once the driver is installed, you’ll get all the features you’d expect from a connected doorbell, including audio and video calls to your Control4 app, or the Smart Home OS 3 app on your phone or tablet.
You’ll also be able to see a live view from a DoorBird camera and, as per a native Control4 intercom, you’ll be able to set up audio alerts using your connected speakers.

DoorBird, a brand from Berlin based Bird Home Automation, has an array of IP smart video doorbells on offer, including the new D2101WV model, which enables contactless ringing; protecting health and increasing safety during these strange times.
Control4 has been in the home automation since the early 2000s, way before the current smart home boom took hold.
A Control4 system, which has to be professionally installed from an authorised dealer, is able to control lighting, multi-room audio, HVAC systems, security platforms, smart locks and more – working via the likes of Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth – and is compatible with over 35,000 devices.
The new DoorBird driver is available in the Control4 Composer database right now.
