You remember the Symfonisk table lamp, right? Now it has legs
Ikea and Sonos have unveiled a new member of the pair’s Symfonisk family – a floor lamp that delivers integration into the latter’s multi-room speaker system.
It’s been a few years since the two companies first joined forces, releasing the Symfonisk bookshelf speaker and the Symfonisk table lamp speaker, and, more recently, we’ve even seen a Symfonisk picture frame speaker.
As you would expect, the new Symfonisk floor lamp speaker takes plenty of inspiration from its sibling, the table lamp speaker, featuring roughly the same bulbous light shade. Only this time, obviously, it has legs to stand on.
The premise is also the same, aiming to give users a way to sneak even more sound into their home setup by combining sound and light.
The floor lamp speaker comes in a shade of bamboo, as well, with shades – like the glass options currently available for the standard Symfonisk table lamp speaker – available to jazz things up.
Naturally, though, while the design is one thing, the integration with Sonos is the real attraction from a smart home and multi-room audio perspective.
Given that the Symfonisk range can play nicely with the rest of the Sonos range, something like the floor lamp speaker should be able to act as a neat rear speaker in home theater setups, for example – and for a much lower asking price than some of Sonos’ own alternatives.
Though no international pricing has yet been announced, the floor lamp speaker will cost $260 when it releases in January in all of Ikea’s markets.
Stay tuned for our full verdict early next year, as we’ll be looking to testing out the latest member of the Symfonisk family upon release.
