LG’s 2019 OLED, NanoCell and UHD TVs all getting in on the Apple action
It’s an absolute Apple assault for LG TV owners with not one, not two, not three – actually, it is three – three key Apple smart services now playing a part on 2019 TV models.
Already compatible with HomeKit and AirPlay 2, select 2019 models join their 2020 counterparts by now offering up the Apple TV app to users as well, meaning access to all that juicy Apple original content everyone’s talking about.
You know, shows such as The Morning Show, See, Servant and Little America. Exactly.
Snark aside, and the availability of the Apple TV app will be welcome news for LG smart TV owners as the app also means access to their iTunes video library and the opportunity to buy or rent over 100,000 movies and TV shows.

The Apple TV addition has already landed on all of LG’s 2019 OLED TVs and NanoCell TVs (series SM9X and SM8X) in over 80 countries and, later in February, it will also go live on series UM7X and UM6X UHD TVs.
All new LG 2020 TV sets will have the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ when they hit the shops and there’s also good news for 2018 LG TV owners and there’s official word that some sets will get the Apple goodies later this year via an over-the-air firmware upgrade.
