The company takes the square route and opens up the linear possibilities
Not content with the shapes able to be created through its standard Lines collection, Nanoleaf has announced an additional version of the smart lights, the Nanoleaf Lines Squared.
In a similar fashion to its sibling, the LED bars of Lines Squared are able to be configured to create a host of shapes on the geometric plane. Where the regular collection was limited, however, was being presented with any 90-degree angles – and that’s where Lines Squared changes things.
Able to be set up around door frames and wall corners, the light’s 90-degree connectors can even connect with the existing 60-degree versions, allowing for even more possibilities in the home.
The modular lighting kit is currently available to pre-order from Nanoleaf for $99.99, which includes four bars. As you would expect, there are also expansion packs available, too.
And aside from looking square and fancy on your wall, Lines Squared offers the typical smart home support and compatibility with Google Home, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Apple Home.
As is the case with other Nanoleaf devices, it’s also able to act as a Thread border router – and that means it can act as the go-between for supported products, such as the just-announced, Matter-ready Nanoleaf Essentials lineup, to join a home’s Thread network and connect to the internet.
Lines themselves aren’t yet compatible with Matter, but we expect that support to arrive in 2023.
