CES 2024: Smart lighting specialist unveils two new Matter solutions and more
Govee has unveiled its latest smart lights over in Vegas at CES 2024; the Govee AI Sync Box Kit 2 and the Neon Rope Light 2.
Starting with the all-new Sync Box and the Chinese brand has beaten the likes of Philips Hue to the 8K HDMI light syncing punch; the new arrival is also capable of 4K at 120 Hz gameplay with dynamic lighting synchronization, powered by Govee’s CogniGlow AI recognition tech.

It’s also going to be Matter compatible when via a software update later this year.
Talking Matter, and the new Neon Rope Light 2 (main pic, above) already has it on board – at least it will when it goes on sale later on in the first half of 2024.
It isn’t just Matter smart home compatible but highly customizable thanks to the RGBIC+ tech that Govee often uses with its smart lighting devices.
Compared to the original – which reviewed well here on The Ambient – there’s improved bend clips, a more flexible material and a new way to create effects from the Govee app, whereby it uses your phone’s camera to assess the shape it’s working with.
Obviously, one of the key selling points of the Matter smart home is that you don’t actually have to use a brand’s app, you can instead control a device through whatever smart home ecosystem you use, whether that be Apple Home, SmartThings, Amazon Alexa or Google Home.
However, Govee’s app is full of bells and whistles you won’t get elsewhere and is also in line for a pretty comprehensive update, which included a new AI Lighting Bot, described as an “Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC).”
Govee tells us it will adapt and respond to different scenarios, providing dynamic and responsive lighting effects.
Aside from these new smart lighting launches, Govee also used CES 2024 to announce GoveeLife – a new independent brand focused on non-light smart home devices.
Devices such as the GoveeLife Presence Sensor and the Matter-ready Smart Plug Pro; both of which will be on sale later this year.

Govee is part of the Shenzhen Intellirocks Tech umbrella and has been making a big play in the past couple of years to get its connected tech to consumers outside of its homeland.
Govee stores on Amazon are overflowing with a range of connected devices and the Govee Store itself is also pretty easy to use as well.
