Control your lights and home gadgets the easy way with this new pairing
Electronics whiz Lutron has announced a pair of smart switches – the Diva and Claro – to help you control your lighting.
The Diva is essentially a smart version of the same ‘dumb’ dimmer switch that has been a part of Lutron’s lineup for the last three decades, featuring the classic paddle design and a slider for more defined control.
Like the standard version, the smart Diva switch can also work with the home’s existing wiring – and doesn’t require a neutral wire for setup.
However, it now helpfully comes with added wireless connectivity, meaning that owners can add a second switch pretty much anywhere in the home by pairing it with the company’s Pico smart remote.
The Diva can also be installed in a wired, three-way application using an existing mechanical switch, or a wired accessory switch.
The Claro, on the other hand, is a bit more simple.
It matches the paddle design of the Diva, but, as a smart switch, its functionality is simply on/off.
Interestingly, the Claro switch does also require a neutral wire for setup, and is probably best used as a switch for controlling fans, for example, rather than smart lights.
Both of these new switches are also available in six glossy finishes: the white pictured, as well as light almond, ivory, gray, brown and black.
They’re also available from 12 September, with the Diva available at $69.95 and the Claro for $59.95.
