CES 2023: An all-new RockDock Ultra also joins the party
Roborock has used the showroom floor of CES 2023 to unveil the next generation of its robot vacuum cleaners, the Roborock S8 Series.
This year’s refresh follows roughly the same format as we’ve seen from the company over the last few years at the Las Vegas tech expo, with a new headline Roborock S8 Pro Ultra model sitting above the Roborock S8+ and Roborock S8.
One of the headline upgrades over the Roborock S7 Series, however, actually isn’t to do with the robot vacuums themselves.
Instead, the RockDock Ultra, which promises a new warm air drying feature for mop pads, automatic mop washing, dust emptying, self-cleaning and tank refilling, is the big improvement available on the flagship S8 Pro Ultra.
Still, there are obviously other key upgrades here. The entire S8 range ups the suction power to a whopping 6,000Pa – the most we’ve seen on a Roborock robot vacuum – while a new dual rubber roller brush has been designed to pick up more dirt and resist tangles more readily compared to predecessors.
The company’s own VibraRise sonic mopping technology is also getting upgraded for the S8 Pro Ultra, with version 2.0 promising improved efficiency thanks to the addition of a second vibration module.
As ever with the company’s premium vacuums, the entire S8 series is also equipped with real-time obstacle avoidance, meaning it’s able to react during a cycle and deviate its path around an object.
Roborock hasn’t provided all the details regarding pricing, but it does indicate that the S8 Series will start at $749.99 when it begins shipping in April.
The Dyad Pro supplements the robot vacs
The S8 Series weren’t the only new devices being showcased on Roborock’s stand at CES, either, with the Dyad Pro also becoming the company’s new wet/dry cordless vacuum.
Featuring a suction power of 17,000Pa and the ability to vacuum and wash concurrently, it’s able to provide a much deeper clean than even the S8 models – at least on paper.
Roborock indicates it’s also able to independently adapt its cleaning power, water flow and cleaning solution depending on the surface. Then, once you’re done using it, it’s able to automatically clean and dry its rollers while docked.
The Dyad Pro is available later this month for $449.99.
