Smart cameras, lights, video doorbells and plugs are in the initial batch
Roku is branching out from smart streaming devices and entering the smart home with a sack of new gadgets, partnering with Wyze to help bring them to market.
The first group of products are essentially all rebadged Wyze models, and the list is pretty comprehensive. There are two types of indoor cameras, three types of outdoor cameras, a light strip, color and white light bulbs, indoor and outdoor smart plugs and a wired and wire-free video doorbell.
From what we can tell, the differences in design are minimal, though they will, of course, be named differently from Wyze’s devices.
They also extend themselves a bit further by offering deeper integrations with Roku’s other gadgets. You’ll be able to use the company’s voice remote, for example, to bring up video feeds from any of the new cameras onto a TV.
The devices will also work with third-party assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant, Roku says.
Let’s offer a quick price check of each device:
- Roku Indoor Camera SE – $26.99
- Roku Indoor Camera 360 SE – $39.99
- Roku Floodlight Camera SE – $99.99
- Roku Outdoor Camera SE – $73.99
- Roku Outdoor Wired Camera SE – $49.99
- Roku Wire-free Video Doorbell & Chime SE – $99.99
- Roku Video Doorbell & Chime SE – $79.99
- Roku Light Strip – $22.99

- Roku Smart Bulb SE White (Four-Pack) – $23.99

So, as you would expect, the group is also as budget-friendly as the Wyze equivalents. To pair with the cameras and doorbells, Roku is also offering a subscription plan that includes cloud storage, package delivery notifications and other smart alerts. It’s $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
Some of the devices listed above will be available on 17 October, while others will be available a little later in the month.
