Wyze Bulb Color goes live: Less than $10 per lightbulb
Budget smart home specialist Wyze has taken the covers off of its latest offering: The Wyze Bulb Color.
As you’ve probably guessed from the name, the Wyze Bulb Color is the Seattle company’s alternative to the likes of Hue, Lifx and co; a smart light bulb that offers users a multitude of multi-color options. Wyze already has a white smart bulb on sale, which we awarded a Top Pick rating to during our review.

The new Color option is a super bright, 1100 Lumens E26 / A19 bulb that is capable of 16 million colors, with a color range of 1800 – 6500k. They also boast a 90+ CRI Rating (an advanced Color Rendering Index scale.)
This being Wyze, a low price is expected and, sold in a $34.99 4-pack, you’re looking at just $8.75 a bulb. There’s no word yet on how much an individual Wyze Bulb Color will cost.

Wyze tells us that routines, smart notifications, vacation modes and sleep features will all be part of the package and both Alexa and Google Assistant compatibility is on offer with the new smart light bulbs.

As you can with a Philips Hue system, you’ll also be able to group Wyze smart lights together in rooms or zones, so as you are able to control multiple devices at a time. Annoyingly though, you can group these new ones with the Wyze white bulb.
As per the original Wyze Bulb, the Wyze Bulb Color doesn’t need a smart home hub. They connect directly to your Wi-Fi; but that Wi-Fi does have to be 2.4GHz, there’s no support for 5GHz. Bluetooth is also on board but that will just be used for the initial app pairing.
Shipping starts at the end of March, you can pre-order them now, directly from Wyze.
