The A19, GU10, BR30 and light strip will form part of Nanoleaf's Essentials line
Nanoleaf has used the Matter Launch Event in Amsterdam to unveil four new smart lights specifically designed for the new smart home standard.
The company will introduce three smart bulbs – A19, GU10 and BR30 fittings – alongside a light strip, with each offering the typical array of 16 million colors and control over color temperature.
It’s been known for some time that Nanoleaf would be one of the first companies to release new devices compliant with Matter over Thread, and the arrival of these models to the company’s Essentials line makes them the first official smart lights to be compatible with the standard.
In that sense, the real fun here is the fact that these lights are able to be controlled via your preferred app or voice assistant – be it Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri – thanks to Matter’s Multi-Admin capabilities. This also includes the ability to feature these new lights in automation routines with other compatible devices.
Pricing for the new range will sit between $19.99 – $99.99, meanwhile, and will be available to buy in early 2023 from the official Nanoleaf store.
That’s not all Nanoleaf has in store for early 2023, either. At CES in January, the company is set to unveil even more Matter-supported products.
It’s not yet clear what these will be, but, given that this announcement covers some of the more basics smart lights, we’d suspect some of the company’s trademark feature lighting could be on the horizon.
As we see more and more compatible devices released, we’ll also be posting some in-depth impressions of how everything is shaping up and working together, so stay tuned.
